At ProLawn Greenkeeping Services, our Spring Program is designed to give your lawn everything it needs to thrive: from pre-emergent weed control to strong root stimulation, nutrient-rich feeding, and pest defence.

What Is the Spring Lawn Program?
The Spring Program is a specialised seasonal treatment that forms a key part of your lawn’s annual health plan. It is typically carried out between September and early November and is available to:
- Clients on the Premium Lawn Care Program (PLC)
- New customers wanting a one-time seasonal lawn treatment
- Homeowners preparing their lawns for summer entertaining
Spring is when weeds try to take over, pests re-emerge, and lawns start to wake up. Our program tackles all of that — and sets your turf up for strong summer growth.
What’s Included?
Scarification (Dethatching)
We use a professional scarifying machine to mechanically remove thatch. This:
- Allows the soil to breathe
- Improves drainage and airflow
- Reduces moss and compaction
- Makes mowing easier and more effective
When we arrive, we will initially scarify your lawn (if required), removing the thatch that has built up over the years. This process allows your soil surface to ‘breathe’.
Aeration
We use professional techniques to perforate the soil and improve its structure. This:
- Enhances water and nutrient absorption
- Relieves soil compaction
- Encourages deeper root growth
- Improves lawn resilience and overall health
When we arrive, we will core aerate your lawn (if required), creating thousands of small holes in the soil. This allows air, water, and nutrients to penetrate deeper into the root zone, helping your lawn become thicker, greener, and more drought-tolerant.
Fertilising
We boost your lawn with a custom blend of:
- Nitrogen-based fertiliser to stimulate strong leaf growth
- Iron and trace elements for deep green colour
- Organic additives to improve root health and microbial life
This kickstarts growth and colour, giving your lawn a lush appearance that lasts.
Top Dressing
We apply a high-quality nutrient-rich top dressing containing humus and organics to:
- Fill core holes
- Rebuild the soil profile
- Level uneven surfaces
- Encourage uniform turf growth
Top dressing smooths out bumpy areas and creates a more even playing surface while feeding the grass naturally.
When Is It Done?
Our Spring Program runs from early September to late October, depending on weather, lawn type, and recent work. The earlier we apply pre-emergent herbicide, the better the weed prevention.
