Autumn Lawn Renovation Program

Autumn Lawn Renovation Program – Thatch Removal & Soil Rejuvenation

At ProLawn Greenkeeping Services, our Autumn Program is all about preparing your lawn for the cold months ahead. By removing built-up thatch and reconditioning your soil, we give your lawn a healthier base to survive winter and bounce back greener and stronger in spring.

This isn’t a weed spray or fertiliser visit — it’s a complete lawn renovation designed to clear out the junk that’s choking your turf and make way for better growth.

What Is the Autumn Program?

The Autumn Program is a one-off seasonal service carried out during autumn, usually in March–May. It’s ideal for lawns with heavy thatch, moss growth, drainage issues, or compaction — all of which can limit your lawn’s ability to breathe and absorb nutrients.

It’s available to both new and existing clients, including those on our Premium Lawn Care Program (PLC).

What Is Thatch and Why Is It a Problem?

Thatch is a layer of dead grass, roots, and organic material that builds up on the soil surface. There are two main types:

  • ✔️ Buffalo lawns tend to build up thick, spongy layers from overactive stolons
  • ✔️ Couch and zoysia lawns often accumulate thatch from old, dead plant matter

Left untreated, thatch can:

  • ✔️ Block water and nutrients from reaching the soil
  • ✔️ Encourage moss, fungal disease, and pests
  • ✔️ Make mowing difficult (especially in buffalo lawns)
  • ✔️ Weaken turf density and root systems
